1. Context, Scope & ISMS Fundamentals (Clauses 4–5)

Organization’s internal and external issues relevant to information security have been identified and documented.

Interested parties (owners, crew, clients, regulators, partners, etc.) and their information security requirements are defined.

ISMS scope is clearly defined, including locations, systems, departments and boundaries (what is in / out).

Information Security Policy is approved by top management and communicated to all relevant personnel.

Roles, responsibilities and authorities for the ISMS are defined and documented (e.g., ISMS Manager, risk owners).

2. Planning, Risk & Objectives (Clause 6)

ISMS risks and opportunities have been identified (including business, legal, operational and cybersecurity risks).

A formal risk assessment methodology is defined (criteria for impact, likelihood, risk acceptance).

Risk assessment has been carried out, documented and approved (covering all in-scope assets and processes).

Risk treatment plan is created with selected controls, owners, deadlines and implementation status.

Statement of Applicability (SoA) is prepared, justifying inclusion/exclusion of Annex A controls.
